I’ve been talking about how social media is now everyone’s TV and reading that quote about it here made my brain explode. (Be the show!) That and this funnel made me a paid subscriber. Thank you for the great work!
Great insight. I like the point on committing to a series for 30 days. In my own viewing experience, if I liked an episode of the series/format, I’m very likely to watch another few in the following few weeks since I discovered it. But then, gradually, that series gets stale, so naturally the creator will hopefully progress to create the next series to entice me to stay.
"Social media is replacing television. And just like in television, there’s the shows you tune-in to watch and there’s the commercials you suffer through. Stop making commercials. Be the show."
This is excellent. In the pursuit of infinite growth plus constant platform changes you'll never feel like you've figured it all out. I'm curious if eventually people will invest more in the middle and bottom tiers of the funnel. Why should you oldest audiences be forgotten and sacrificed in pursuit of growth on non-owned channels? Something to think about.
You know who's great at episodic content? that one Boston girl turning her apt in a 1980s Miami Pent House. It's been going for like half a year and people are so invested!
Personally I think the best way to nurture and bond with audiences are IRL events and activations. people might forget or move on very quickly from the social campaigns but an event could last longer with them and build more brand affinity.
Hello! I would love to know if we can have access to your recording with the Instagram team a few weeks ago. I am a paid subscriber, but was unable to attend due to meetings.

i hear you! i just wonder if instagram is the best platform for nurturing those middle and bottom tiers of the funnel, realistically.

On the topic of episodic content, InStyle is doing a LOVELY job at this on their TikTok 🥰
So now we need actors.
