Great interview! I have always loved Reformation's tagline and Rhode's instagram captions. So cool to know who is behind this and lucky us - getting some insider tips! Thanks for the great share Rachel.
This is so helpful!!! I’m so new to marketing but needing to do so much for my small business @playsidetracks and this is making my realize my current copy is not good and I have so much I can improve on!! (Which is good!!)
AD + MP: Baby, it rings like a bell! My eyes get wide. It takes me somewhere I WANNA BE. It respects me, it shows me that there’s always another way to think and be.
Reformation has been catching my eye for years, thanks to their clever taglines and memorable collaborations with both famous and infamous icons. Remember their Monica Lewinsky edit? They never miss!
I am so happy I found this edition of your newsletter Rachel! I am determined to become a better copywriter and really loved all the tips Arin and Madison shared.
This was such a great read! As someone who used to work on crafting brand voices on Twitter, I find it so fascinating to see this as an evolution from those early days of brands jumping on the "unhinged" bandwagon and trying to be funny and divisive.
To a certain extent, it's still happening, but I love seeing perspectives like this that really extend from how the people running these accounts actually talk and exist within the world. I find the authenticity and sincerity (combined with genuine copywriting) are making social more transparent and human-led places.
This was a fantastic read! I’m a scriptwriter for a big home furnishing site and even though it’s a much different area I found this super helpful and inspiring.
This hit me right in the heart! So good.
“Whatever it is, let the truth resonate, then move in the direction of what you want to see in the world. Always look straight ahead.”
so so good!

Thanks for the kind words!!
Good copywriting is beyond underrated in 2024. We have too many stories and too many platforms to land a brand voice, so people have got lazy.

Love this 'If we wouldn’t say it, we don’t write it' mentality. So true.
As someone who writes fiction, I tend to overthink things like captions that are in my own voice for some reason, so I loved reading this!!
